Ford had started to swell in size and each new year brought a model with
great advances in both technology and design. But every example was well
liked by the public, who flocked to Ford like no other manufacturer as
they offered cheap yet good-quality transport. As the street rodding industry
saw a revival in the 1980s, many firms went into the reproduction of early
Ford bodies as they were becoming so difficult to find in good-condition
steel. Offering them in glass-fibre which wouldn't rot and was lightweight
seemed perfect for the majority of builders who wanted to construct their
own cars from kit form at home. This car uses one such body on a vintage
shaped chassis but with extra strength. The front and rear suspension
are beam and live axle respectively, while power comes from a basic tune
small-block Chevy which can still pull the car to quick speeds.
